WHY YOUR HANDS DESERVE SKINVIVE, TOO

When we think about maintaining healthy, youthful-looking skin, most of the attention tends to go to the face. We invest in skincare, SPF, injectables and treatments designed to improve everything from hydration to texture - but there’s one area that’s surprisingly easy to overlook: the hands.

Our hands are also one of the areas where changes in the skin can become noticeable early. Years of sun exposure, frequent washing and the natural aging process can leave the skin looking thinner, drier and less resilient. Fine lines become more apparent, texture can look crepey, and the hands may simply start to look less hydrated than the rest of your skin.

That’s exactly why we love SkinVive for the hands.

Beautiful hydrated hands

WHAT IS SKINVIVE?

SkinVive is a microdroplet injectable hyaluronic acid treatment - we like to call it injectable moisturizer -designed to improve skin quality and hydration from within.

Unlike traditional dermal fillers, which are used to restore volume, create structure or enhance facial contours, SkinVive is injected superficially into the skin with an entirely different goal: smoother, softer, better-looking skin.

Hyaluronic acid naturally attracts and retains water, helping replenish hydration beneath the surface. The result is skin that looks smoother, softer and more hydrated, without noticeably changing the shape or structure of the treated area.

WHY DO OUR HANDS AGE SO QUICKLY?

The skin on our hands has a tough job. It’s regularly exposed to UV rays, dry air, frequent handwashing, sanitizers and environmental stressors - and it often receives far less skincare and sun protection than our face.

As we age, the skin also naturally produces less collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid. Combined with changes in the underlying tissue of the hands, this can make the skin appear thinner and less supple over time.

You may begin noticing:

  • Fine lines and crepey texture

  • Dry or dull-looking skin

  • Decreased elasticity

  • More noticeable skin texture

  • An overall loss of that smooth, hydrated appearance

And while hand creams can absolutely help support the skin barrier and improve surface hydration, an injectable skin-quality treatment works differently by placing hyaluronic acid directly within the skin.

SKINVIVE VS. TRADITIONAL FILLER

This distinction is important.

Traditional dermal filler treatments for the hands are generally focused on restoring lost volume. They can help soften the appearance of prominent veins, tendons and bony structures by replacing some of the volume that has been lost over time.

SkinVive is different.

Rather than trying to volumize the hands, SkinVive is focused on the quality of the skin itself - particularly hydration and smoothness.

Think of it less as “filling” the hands and more as treating the skin from within.

For someone whose primary concern is thin, dry or crepey-looking skin rather than significant volume loss, SkinVive can be a beautiful option. And for some clients, improving skin quality may also complement other approaches to hand rejuvenation.

WHAT DOES SKINVIVE DO FOR THE HANDS?

The treatment can help the skin look:

More hydrated. Hyaluronic acid helps attract water within the skin, improving that dry, depleted appearance.

Smoother. Improved hydration can soften the appearance of fine lines and textural irregularities.

More supple. Skin can take on a softer, healthier-looking quality rather than appearing thin or crepey.

Refreshed without looking “done.” Because the focus is skin quality rather than adding obvious volume, the result should still look completely like your hands - just smoother.

WHAT IS THE TREATMENT LIKE?

SkinVive is strategically placed using just two injection sites per hand, making the treatment incredibly quick and comfortable while allowing for even improvement in hydration and overall skin quality.

As with any injectable treatment, temporary swelling, redness, tenderness or bruising may occur around the injection sites and bruising may last up to two weeks. Your provider will walk you through what to expect, along with simple aftercare instructions, at your appointment.

The amount of SkinVive needed varies depending on your anatomy, skin quality and treatment goals, but most clients receive one to two syringes per hand for optimal results.

DON'T STOP YOUR SKINCARE AT YOUR WRISTS

One of the simplest ways to care for your hands long-term is to start treating them more like you treat your face.

Bring your skincare down onto the backs of your hands. Apply broad-spectrum SPF daily. Moisturize consistently, particularly after washing. And when you're considering professional treatments for skin quality, remember that your hands can benefit from a little attention, too.

Beautiful skin shouldn't stop at your wrists.
